School Information
How do I find my school in the American School Directory?
Click on the “Help” button located at the bottom of the ASD Home Page.
How do I update the information on my school’s Web Site?
Additions and corrections are made with the “Online Update Form” . Click on School Information, then on Online Update Form. Now you may submit additions and/or corrections.
How do we add additional information to the Web Site?
1. Use the “Online Update Form” located in the School Information section.
2. Upon request, a free EZ Graphics Picture & Art Tool Kit ($199 value) will be forwarded to you as a gift from our sponsor, Innisbrook Wraps (available to the first 25,000 requests). This includes: step-by-step instructions, user friendly off-line software, available in MAC or IBM (Windows) format, 100 calendar entries, 12 scannable images and toll free technical support. Please specify MAC or IBM and the school’s full name and address (or ASD#).
If we get a new principal, will ASD remove the image of the previous principal?
The principal’s image will be removed as soon as the update indicating the new principal’s name is processed.
I have submitted 12 calendar dates, if I submit 12 more on the Online Update Form will the previous 12 be erased?
Yes, the previous data will be erased once new information is indicated.
How can we link the American School Directory Web Site to our School Web Site?
Enter the school Web Site URL on the “Online Update Form” (in the School Information section) under “School Web Site”.
How can we correct the colors so the text is easier to read?
This situation may be corrected by changing the school colors on the “Online Update Form” (in the School Information section). In most cases, it is as easy as reversing the primary and secondary colors.
Can our school be taken out of the American School Directory?
The American School Directory is a comprehensive listing of K-12 schools, public and private. In order to protect the integrity of the ASD, schools are not removed. The information provided is public knowledge and available elsewhere on the Internet.
Online Update Form
Is the information provided on the Online Update secure information?
Most definitely! All information provided is reviewed by a Web Site Administrator. It is compared to previous data before it is accepted or rejected. Information may be password protected if requested by an authorized school representative.
Can anyone submit an Online Update?
The “Online Update Form” is designed to allow each school to make changes at your convenience. We review each update by comparing it to previous data. If an update seems legitimate, but the change is in question, the school is contacted for verification.
When do my Online Update changes show on the Web Site?
All Online Update changes show on the Web Site within 48 hours of submission.
How often may I submit an Online Update?
A new Online Update Form may be submitted as soon as a previous form is processed by ASD.
May anyone utilize the Web Site Advisor’s section other than the Web Site Advisor?
Before text may be added in this section, the Web Site Advisor must be listed under the Administration list.
How many characters per field are allowed for articles on the Online Update?
Approximately 500 words (3600 characters) are allowed per field.
I have submitted 12 calendar dates, if I submit 12 more on the Online Update Form will the previous 12 be erased?
Yes, the previous data will be erased once new information is indicated.
Why was my Online Update not accepted?
All Online Updates are accepted unless there is a prior update pending or the contents are questionable. If there is a pending update, a message will be at the top of the screen asking you to try again later. If the contents are questionable, a Web Site Administrator will contact the school before it is accepted.

Free E-Mail
How do I register for free e-mail?
Click on “E-mail” on the left of the ASD Web page and follow the instructions for sign-up.
How do I get pass the “I agree” page in N2 Mail?
If clicking on “I agree” doesn’t take you pass this page, please e-mail us at asdwebmaster@asd.com. Be sure to have the name of your blocker software package noted in the e-mail.
If I entered incorrect information on the N2 Mail registration, can it be removed?
Yes. Type in your user name and password. Click on “Enter N2” , go to “Edit Preferences” and click on “Account Info” to make corrections.
Can my e-mail address show on “Sent” mail instead of my registered name?
Yes. Go to “Edit Preferences” and click on “Signature”. You can delete your name and address to have only your e-mail address appear when sending mail.
Must I complete all the information on the N2 Mail registration form?
The only fields that are required are marked with red dots to the left.
What type of banner ads show in the N2 Mail?
For children under 18, informational ads are posted during school hours. After school hours, commercial banner ads appear.
Why won’t mail from another domain go to an adult’s N2 Mail?
Your “Address Block” feature may have been activated. Go to “Edit Preferences”, click on “Controls” and check the Address Block feature that has been selected. If you have selected to receive all mail and still have a problem, please e-mail us at asdwebmaster@asd.com.
Will I receive “spam” mail in my N2 Mail?
N2 Mail has filters that stop most “spam” mail from being sent to N2 Mail accounts. You may go into “Edit Preferences”, click on “Controls” and select an option that will block any unauthorized e-mail.
Does N2 Mail have enough space for our entire school to have an individual address?
Yes, there is enough space for everyone in your school to have an e-mail address. In fact, there is enough room for every parent or community member to have a personal e-mail account as well.
American Alumni Directory
Why would I not find a classmate listed in the American Alumni Directory?
The American Alumni Directory is a “self registering” directory; therefore, you will only find classmates who have registered in the AAD.
Can a closed school be added to the American Alumni Directory?
Yes. All that is necessary is an e-mail to aadwebmaster@asd.com. Please provide the necessary school information.

How can our school activate our School Store?
An authorized school representative may request this by e-mail to asdwebmaster@asd.com or by calling a Web Site Administrator at 800-444-4488.
What are Technology Points and how do we redeem them?
Technology Points are credits earned through interactive features of an ASD Web Site. An authorized school representative may redeem them for computer technology , video equipment or cash. The Technology Point Redemption Center, located in the “Resources” section of the Web Site, may be used for technology and equipment redemptions. All cash redemptions may be requested by e-mail to asdwebmaster@asd.com or by calling a Web Site Administrator at 800-444-4488.
