Schools can be searched for by state, county, city, zip code, and type of school, or a specific school can be retrieved by name and accessed in a matter of seconds. If you know the ASD number for the school you can enter it to quickly get to the school. Filling Out The Initial Search Form 1. Be sure to select a state. You must choose the state in which the school is located in order for the search to take place. 2. Enter the school’s name. You do not have to enter the entire name of the school. It is only necessary to enter the first few letters. For example, if the school is named Riverdale Central High School you can simply type "riv" in the school name field. This will give you every school in the selected state with "riv" in the school name. Filling Out The Advanced Search Form 1. Search by County, City or Zip Code. Using the Advanced Search allows you to search for schools in a specific county, city or zip code. 2. Search by Type of School. It is possible to limit your search to the type of school whether that be public, private, Catholic or Web Pioneer schools. The Web Pioneer selection will allow you to find schools that have a link to a Web site that has been created apart from their ASD Web Site. Understanding The Search Results 1. No school found. If you get a message saying that no school was found, go back to the initial search page and try some of the tips listed above, or try the advanced search. 2. Letters of the alphabet listed across the top of the screen. This will occur when you search without populating the school name field and more than twenty schools matched your search criteria on the search form. If you click on one of the letters, you will receive a list of the schools starting with that letter. 3. The "More" button appears at the bottom of a search results list. If the list of schools exceeds twenty schools, you will receive a "More" button at the bottom of the page. When the button is clicked, the next twenty schools will appear until the list is complete. 4. To get to the school’s ASD Web Site, simply click on the underlined name of the school and you will be taken to the school’s Home Page. If you did not find your school Add Your School Now
